Advice on submitting a grant application
Faculty readership scheme
UQ is focused on maximizing its success in the major funding rounds in Australia, and is dedicated to providing as much support to researchers in the preparation of their grant applications.
The Research Office coordinates formal readership programs for a number of schemes each year. Researchers are encouraged to submit their draft applications to the programs so that the applications can be read by an experienced assessors or highly successful grant winners.
Each readership program is launched with an email from the Research Office to all faculty staff advising them to send their applications in. The Research Office assigns these applications to suitable readers for the applications discipline, and a readership session is arranged in which the applicant meets with the readers and the Associate Dean (Research) for feedback.
Outside the formal readership scheme, staff are encouraged to submit draft applications at any stage of development and to seek feedback by emailing soft copies to their Faculty Research Office.
