HaBS Staff Awards

The Faculty is proud of its strong team of professional staff who serve the wider faculty and university community by means of innovation, leadership, and a dedication to the brand and values of UQ. 

Below are the categories of awards in which professional staff may be recognised. Individuals may apply for awards in appropriate categories, or be nominated by a colleague.

  • Innovation

    Value: $3000 

    Eligibility: Professional Staff HEW 1-10.

    The Innovation Award recognises the efforts of professional staff from the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences who have demonstrated ongoing innovation throughout the year. 

    Nominations should demonstrate:

    • Development and implementation of new concepts, products and/or services that significantly improve the student or staff experience.
    • A significant improvement in systems, procedures or practices resulting in process and cost efficiencies.
    • Implemented or advancement in workplace practices and/or initiatives that improve the Faculty's effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Implemented an innovative approach to meeting strategic objectives.

  • Customer Service

    Value: $3000 

    The Customer Service Award recognises the efforts of professional staff from the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences who have demonstrated ongoing commitment to exemplary customer service throughout the year. 

    Nominations should demonstrate:

    • Implementation of a significant and outstanding improvement or initiative that contributed to creating an exceptional student and/or staff experience.
    • Consistently provides outstanding and exceptional quality of service to Faculty clients (i.e. employees, students and/or community).
    • Significant contribution to building the professional standing and reputation of the HaBS community.

     

    Submit a Customer Service Award Nomination

  • Team Work

    Value: up to $3000 per team member ($10,000 team total)

    Eligibility: Teams of Professional Staff HEW 1-10.

    The Team Work Award recognises the efforts professional services teams from the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences who have demonstrated ongoing innovation and leadership. 

    Nominations should demonstrate:

    • A team who consistently strives for excellence, seeking to apply the highest standards to benefit our communities.
    • Inspiring work ethic and commitment to the values of UQ.
    • A team who demonstrates innovative and leadership practices.
    • A team who provides outstanding service.

  • Above and Beyond

    Value: $3000 

    Eligibility: Professional Staff HEW 1-10.

    The Above and Beyond Award recognises the outstanding performance and contributions of professional staff from the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences who have demonstrated that they have gone ‘above and beyond’ their regular duty requirements throughout the year. 

    Nominations should demonstrate:

    • An attitude of excellence.
    • Added service to their School/Centre/Faculty or specialist community and, as a result, has enhanced the Faculty’s reputation and the experience of the UQ community.
    • A high level of commitment, initiative, cooperation and dedication in their job responsibilities.

     

    Submit an Above and Beyond Award Nomination

  • Leadership

    Value: $3000 

    Eligibility: Professional Staff HEW 1-10.

    The Leadership Award recognises the exemplary leadership of professional staff from the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences who help to create a positive, performance-based culture, and contribute to the achievements of the Faculty. 

    Nominations should demonstrate:

    An individual who inspire employees to focus their individual talents on the goals of the organisation and to contribute at the highest level. This leader values people and is a guardian of the culture and exemplars in living the organisation’s values. This leader thinks and works strategically; achieves results, drives accountability and fosters learning.
