Time:    12:00pm -1:00pm
Venue:  Lecture Theatre 1, School of Dentistry,

Using video in teaching and learning has the potential to enrich the student learning experience, allowing students to review learning content at their own pace. In some cases, video can provide information for students or an opportunity to demonstrate techniques. This forum looks at effective use of video in teaching with a hands-on session on self- and desktop-recording.
The session will also look at embedding recordings and videos into learning materials, and the video resources available for educational use.

The School of Dentistry would like to like to invite academics from all schools in the HABS Faculty to join the hands-on session, please bring along laptops or portable devices if available.

For more information, please contact the Faculty eLearning Coordinator,
Jessica Tsai.

Please RSVP by Friday 17 October to Jessica if you would like to attend.

Quick poll from ITS TLS

There has been an increase in the use of video in courses and ITS TLS would like your input on the need for recording facilities to be available on campus.

Would it be useful to have access to a sound proof video recording facility for short instructional video generation?

  • Download your Grade Centre a day or two before the upgrade in case you will need to access your course marks. You can record new marks in Excel exported from the Grade Centre, and upload these into Blackboard when the upgrade is complete.
  • Download a copy of any assignments that you will need to access during the upgrade period.
    How to:

You can also export a copy of the course using Export/Archive Course option under the Packages and Utilities section in Blackboard (under Control Panel).
