The purpose of this study is to investigate the perspectives of people who have experienced low back pain about how uncertainty is managed in clinical encounters and how it could be improved.

It will aim to improve care of people with lower back pain, and support clinicians to enhance their ability to navigate uncertainty in this context. 

If you agree to participate in the study, you will be interviewed by an experienced researcher via conferencing software at a time convenient to you. The interview will take about 1 hour. The interview will be a series of open questions asked in a conversational manner, to ensure that you will have ample opportunities to share your views. With your permission, the interview will be audio-recorded, but the recording will be de-identified to ensure confidentially.

Eligibility 

Anyone who is over 18 years old and has seen a healthcare professional for their low back pain is eligible to participate in this study.
