Patient Handling Training - NMW Students

What is Patient Handling Training?

From Semester 1 2024, all first year Nursing and Midwifery students will be required to complete mandatory Patient Handling Training prior to commencing placements. There are 2 components to completing the training - attending an in-person Patient Handling Session, and completing 2 e-learning modules. 

Students will receive an email from the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Education Team with details about their patient handling sessions and attendance details. This email will be sent incrementally towards the end of January. Students who are unable to attend their session will need to self-source their patient handling competency prior to attending clinical placement
