Patrick Carrigan from UQ's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences has been acknowledged in NRL's 2021 Academic Team of the year.
Studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), Carrigan was the first UQ student or alumnus to captain the Brisbane Broncos.
He continues to break the mould of traditional rugby player, juggling the extreme world of high-profile professional sport with a demanding university degree.
