Pareidolia is seeing human faces in inanimate objects, but why are we more likely to see male faces than females?

Professor Derek Arnold from UQ’s School of Psychology featured on The Project discussing face pareidolia.

“Pareidolia is seeing human faces in inanimate objects,” Professor Arnold said.

“Essentially for humans, human faces are the most important visual object there is.

“So much of the visual brain is dedicated to processing information about human faces."
