Associate Professor Steven Rynne from UQ’s School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences spoke with ABC Overnights about what makes a good sports coach.
“When you’re talking about good coaching, not all coaching is the same,” Dr Rynne said.
“Many sports are suggesting coaches need to adapt, otherwise they will be left on the scrap heap.
“What we have seen is that things have changed over the years in coaching, in the same way that things have changed in teaching and parenting.
“So, at the elite level, we are seeing coaches be far more collaborative and less confrontational or authoritarian.”
