Professor Genevieve Dingle from UQ's School of Psychology featured in an ABC article providing commentary on the benefits of group singing.
The article follows the story of Nick Margan, a man in his 20s who regularly leads group singalongs at an aged care home.
Professor Dingle said group singing offers strong social benefits.
"There are things about the act of listening, harmonising, and working together on a sort of shared goal — of producing a lovely sound — that is incredibly quick to bond people together," she said.
Professor Dingle said it's great to see young people, like Mr Margan, leading the singalongs.
