Research starts in the mediaAre you thinking about using the media or social media to promote your research? This is the event for you!

This event will recognise media stars in HaBS and discuss the benefits of using the media and social media to promote your research. High profile researchers from HaBS will share their experiences of working with journalists and using social media to communicate their research to broad audiences. Speakers will include:

  • Prof Wayne Hall (Centre for Youth Substance Abuse Research) – Distinguished researcher and media star who has advised the Australian Government, WHO, the UN and the World Bank
  • Dr Amirali Popat (School of Pharmacy) – NHMRC Senior Research Fellow, 2018 Queensland Young Tall Poppy Award recipient and social media star
  • Dr Kylie Burke (School of Psychology) – Senior Research Fellow and media star
  • Dr Rachel Elphinston (RECOVER Injury Research Centre) – Senior Research Fellow, Clinical Psychologist and media star

The HaBS Media team will also be on hand to answer queries about working with journalists and social media.
