Professor Alex Haslam (Psychology) – Managing the impacts of isolation and social distancing
Professor Alex Haslam from UQ’s School of Psychology will explain that remaining socially connected in a time of social distancing is more important than ever. Loneliness and isolation are linked to poor physical and mental health and studies have found that social disconnection poses a greater health threat than smoking, poor diet and lack of exercise.

About Professor Alex Haslam
Alex is Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology and Australian Laureate Fellow at the University of Queensland. His research focuses on the study of group and identity processes in organizational, social, and clinical contexts.
