Do you have a loved one living with dementia in an aged care home? Are you frustrated or concerned with their hearing?

Researchers from The University of Queensland invite you to take part in a research project which aims to pilot an information booklet about treating hearing loss. The booklet will help you and your family member understand and choose an option for treating their hearing loss.

What does the research involve?

  • Completing 3 questionnaires before the appointment. Estimated time 15 minutes.
  • Attending an audiology appointment (at the clinic or from the aged care home) and using the booklet during the appointment. Estimated time 60 minutes
  • Completing 2 questionnaires after the appointment. Estimated time 10 minutes.
  • Taking part in an interview (over the phone or face-to-face) to provide feedback on the booklet. Estimated time 45 minutes.

A family member/caregiver is asked to attend the audiology appointment with their family member living with dementia.

Where is this being conducted?

Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Rockhampton.

If you live outside these regions, but would like to take part, please contact Anthea to discuss your options.
