What is Anaphylaxis Certification?

Pharmacists are required to have knowledge of detecting and treating patients who present with severe or life-threatening allergies when in contact with different allergens in our environment.  This includes reactions after administration of vaccines. The Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) provide an up-to-date free online course to cover the knowledge required for certification.  Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) students will require this certification in preparation for placements in the 4th year of their program, in conjunction with their First Aid & CPR certification.

Cost: Free

Duration: Approximately 1.5hrs to complete.

Validity: Recommended to take the refresher course annually.
