Professor David Copland from UQ’s Queensland Aphasia Research Centre featured in an ABC article discussing aphasia and the work of the Centre.
Professor Copland said QARC, which officially opened two years ago, was developing new ways of treating aphasia.
"We've understood through research that people need a lot more treatment than they have been able to receive before," Professor Copland said.
"They were often only receiving very small amounts of therapy and what we've been trialling is a comprehensive program where they get 50 hours of therapy over eight weeks."
