The CRC Longevity will be a globally unique collaboration, addressing the needs and aspirations of older people through a multidisciplinary, cross-sectoral research and development program including:
Outcomes:
- End-users (industry, communities, and governments) will have a wide range of benefits including for example; financial returns and costs of business, product quality and relevance, consumer loyalty, market share, international opportunities, new market opportunities, new technologies that improve outputs or reduce costs and many more.
- Diverse, strong and powerful organisational and individual networks to leverage and scale outcomes for end-users to create and drive change.
Outputs:
- A vibrant and sustainable ‘ecosystem’ of complementary industries across the value chain, working together to meet the needs and expectations of current and future older people with integrated solutions that make a difference.
- Productivity or efficiency gains from more integrated or better co-ordinated or more tailored products and services.
- An evidence-based framework that facilitates and supports the development and delivery of meaningful and integrated solutions.
Impacts:
- Growth in economic value-add to Australia from our older citizens – maximising the significant potential economic contributions as a longevity asset of Australia. This facilitates a more effective use of available, but sometimes idle, assets to grow the national economy and improve our international competitiveness
- More productive, healthy older people who continue to contribute economically and socially to their communities and society – with the potential to reduce costs for governments and society or reallocate resources to other productive uses.
- Better social connectivity for older Australians within their local and extended communities.
