Placements

Most students in the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences will complete placement courses as part of their program.

Students undertake placements in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, UQ's own dentistry, nutrition, rehabilitation, and psychology clinics, multidisciplinary primary care centres, and corporate and not-for-profit organisations.

Students also undertake placements in a variety of locations: in South East Queensland, rurally, interstate, and overseas.

Before you can commence your placement, all students must meet specific pre-placement requirements, including legislative, security, and health and safety requirements, and provide evidence to the University.

To ensure you're placement ready, complete the step-by-step pre-placement checklist.

Please note

Some placements commence as early as Week 1, and if you fail to meet the pre-placement requirements you may be unable to attend your placement or undertake clinical activities. Information on submission deadlines for your discipline can be found on the Submitting Your Documents page.
