A range of fascinating topics will be covered, e.g. protecting native animals, harnessing artificial intelligence, and tackling antibiotic resistant bacteria. A special event for Queensland Seniors Month.
About Seniors Month at UQ
This month UQ is supporting Queensland Seniors Month. The theme ‘Social Connections' promotes positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing.
As Australia’s first Age Friendly University, we are hosting a variety of events throughout the month.

Age friendly 'Social Connection' events for all ages
- Camps, cottages, and homes: A brief history of Indigenous housing in Queensland at UQ’s Anthropology Museum. Free exhibition.

- Elements (plural noun: parts into which a whole may be formed): A ‘Live at UQ’ School of Music Concert. Free: open to audiences of all ages.

- Check out Wondrous Machines at the RD Milns Antiquities Museum. Free exhibition.
- Visit one of UQ’s libraries. Anyone is welcome to visit UQ Library locations and to use the on-site collections, including UQ’s cultural and historical collections. Visitors also have access to a selection of our databases and eBooks that can be accessed from Library computers, key digitised collections from Fryer Library, and UQ Library Search.
- Visit UQ’s Physics Museum (open 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday), and don’t forget to look at the famous Pitch Drop Experiment.
- If you are a UQ graduate, visit the recently-opened Atrium in Brisbane City (308 Queen Street, Brisbane).
- Check out some of UQs many MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses).
- Visit the online exhibitions at UQ's RD Milns Antiquities museum.
