This study is designed to help us better understand the mechanisms underlying how individuals direct their attention and what they are thinking about. 

The research will use a form of non-invasive brain stimulation known as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and a dopamine precursor medication, Levodopa.

Participation involves a single 2.5 hour session at the St Lucia campus.

Eligibility 

  • Right-handed
  • Aged 18-40 years
  • Have English as your first language, or fluency equivalent
  • That you have not received brain stimulation 48hrs prior to the session
  • That you have normal/corrected-to-normal vision and hearing
  • Not taking psychoactive medications
  • Not taking blood pressure medications
  • No current asthma or diabetes diagnoses
  • No psychiatric or neurological diagnosis (e.g., depression, bipolar, epilepsy)
  • No history of epilepsy or other brain conditions

Participant benefits

Participants will be reimbursed with $50 cash.
