Taking a first step to embed a mental health service for mothers of children with disability in a paediatric service
The research team is looking for mothers of children (0 to 18 years old) with disability in the community.
Participants will be asked to participate in an individual interview via Zoom to explore their experiences of accessing support services for their mental health. They can also choose to participate in three co-design meetings (approximately 60 hour/session) to develop a service blueprint along with peadiatric and mental health clinicians.
Eligibility
Mothers of children with any form of disability. Children’s age must be between 0 and 18 years old.
Participant benefits
Upon completion of individual interview, each participant will receive $30 gift voucher to reimburse their time. If attending three co-design meetings, each participant will receive $40/hour, and refreshment will be provided.
The findings of this project contribute to the field in the following manner:
- Building of evidence on the experiences of mothers of children with disability when accessing mental health services.
- Clarifying a rationale, and develop a strategy, and plan to embed a mental health service in a paediatric setting (i.e., blueprint).
