Taking a first step to embed a mental health service for mothers of children with disability in a paediatric service
University of Queensland researchers are seeking volunteers to participate in a study designed to co-design a blueprint of an adult mental health service for mothers of children with a disability.
What is the purpose of this study?
This project proposes to co-design a blueprint of an adult mental health service for mothers of children with disability, which will be embedded within the paediatric service at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
While existing services can provide mental health support to mothers of children with disability, the service structure is too limited to address ongoing stressors experienced by parents.
What is involved:
Participants will be asked to participate in an individual interview via Zoom to explore their experiences of accessing support services for their mental health.y
Participants can also choose to participate in three co-design meetings (approximately 60 hour/session) to develop a service blueprint along with peadiatric and mental health clinicians.
Eligibility:
The research team is looking for mothers of children (0 to 12years old) with a disability.
Participation benefits:
Upon completion of individual interview, each participant will receive a $30 gift voucher to reimburse their time.
If attending three co-design meetings, each participant will receive $40/hour, and refreshments will be provided.
