Sustainability was introduced in 2011 in the Australian Curriculum as a cross-curriculum priority (S-CCP). However, ten years on, teachers often lack understanding, confidence and competence to embed sustainability across the curriculum.

Training programs developed to address this concern largely focus on environmental education and providing information rather than equipping teachers with the skills needed to transform knowledge into action.

To overcome these issues, a semi-structured focus group interview will be conducted via Zoom or in-person with a group of teachers and school leaders to explore the barriers and facilitators that predict S-CCP implementation; the skills that they need to support S-CCP implementation and their preference of a professional development program to support their S-CCP implementation.

Eligibility

Queensland teachers or school leaders with a minimum of 3 years’ experience are eligible to participate.
