Experienced an injury in the Compulsory Third Party (CTP) or Worker's Compensation schemes in Queensland?

It is well known that Australia has a complex maze of systems providing rehabilitation and income support for people with an injury. Research conducted at UQ over many years has found that these systems can be challenging to navigate for the injured person, their families and often their health providers. Sustaining an injury at work or in a road traffic crash sometimes creates much anxiety and questions about rehabilitation, finances and employment, entitlements and responsibilities.

This study invites people who have sustained an injury at work or in a road traffic crash, and who have made a compensation claim, to participate in qualitative interviews with researchers.

This study builds on a consumer engagement activity conducted at RECOVER, whereby consumer members of an advisory panel, were consulted about the study design and concept. The consumer engagement activity has influenced the direction of this current study.

Aim:

The aim of this study is to document the lived-experiences of consumers who have previously had a claim within either the worker’s compensation system or the compulsory third party (CTP) schemes in Queensland, Australia. The outcomes of the research will contribute to improving the provision of services for people in the compensation systems and those supporting their recovery.
