Researchers at The University of Queensland are seeking to better understand the underlying causes of shoulder pain.

The experiment will involve the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) which is a safe, non-invasive to help us understand how the brain controls the shoulder muscles.

The delivery of TMS will not alter any neural pathways in your brain. Sensors will be placed on or in shoulder muscles to assess the response from stimulation. The procedures can be associated with transient pain/discomfort and other minor risks that will be carefully explained to you prior to gaining your consent.

Eligibility

  • Above 18 years old

  • Right handed

  • Currently have right shoulder pain for at least 3 months

Participant benefits

Participants will be reimbursed with $50 in cash as a thank you for their time.
