Innovative technologies like virtual reality and robotic pets are continually being developed to support the health and well-being of people living with dementia.

However, there is insufficient knowledge on how to use such technologies ethically and respectfully.

This research aims to understand how innovative technology can be ethically and safely used to support residents with dementia.

We are recruiting people with dementia, their family members, aged care professionals and managers to participate in this research.

Each participant will be invited to join one small group discussions or a 1-to-1 interview, which will take no more than 60 to 90 minutes. The discussion or interview will be conducted via Zoom or in-person, depending on participants’ availability and preferences.

Eligibility

We are looing for participants who are

  • Living with dementia
  • A family member caring for someone with dementia, OR
  • A residential aged care staff/manager

Participant benefits

Participants will receive a $50 voucher as a thank you for your time.
