About this research

UQ researchers are looking for participants on the autism spectrum or with Asperger’s syndrome and neurotypical controls to participate in a study exploring how autistic traits influence alcohol-related behaviours.

Who can participate

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • have previously drunk alcohol
  • have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or Asperger’s Syndrome
  • aged 18 years or older

What's involved

You will be asked to:

  • complete an online, anonymous exercise (60 minutes)
  • the excercise will ask you to read 8 short stories describing scenarios in which people drink alcohol. You will then be asked to imagine yourself in these scenarios, and answer questions about your drinking behaviour.
  • complete additional, online questionnaires about your general drinking behaviour

Benefits of participating

You can enter a prize draw to win one of four $50 Coles-Myer gift cards.
